d. Biometric Information Collected for Fingerprinting Services

As part of our core fingerprinting services, we collect biometric fingerprint data in person using a dedicated Live Scan system. This data is collected solely for the purpose of submitting your fingerprints to the California Department of Justice, the FBI, or another authorized requesting agency, as applicable to the service you requested.

Biometric fingerprint images are captured and transmitted through a single, dedicated system and are not stored on any other device, system, or backup. Per California Department of Justice Live Scan Terms and Conditions (Section 5.07) and Civil Code § 1798.81, fingerprint images are automatically purged from our system no later than 30 calendar days after the date of capture.

Separately, we are required to maintain a transaction log and a physical copy of your completed Request for Live Scan Service form for 12 months following your visit, for security and recordkeeping purposes as required by California Department of Justice Live Scan Terms and Conditions (Sections 8.12–8.13). This log includes your name, contact information, the date of your visit, the type of identification presented, and your Applicant Tracking Identifier (ATI) number. This information is retained securely and destroyed after the 12-month period, consistent with Civil Code § 1798.81.

Because your fingerprints are transmitted to the requesting state or federal agency, we do not retain the fingerprint image itself beyond the 30-day window described above, and we have no ability to access, retrieve, or control your fingerprint data or your results once submitted. Any request to access, correct, or delete fingerprint-based results must be directed to the requesting agency, not to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

  • Improve website functionality and performance

  • Communicate with you (if you opt in)

  • Protect our systems and prevent abuse

  • To protect our rights, safety, or property

  • As part of a business sale, transfer, or merger

4. Your Rights Under California Law (CCPA and CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose

  • Request deletion of your personal information (with limited exceptions)

  • Correct inaccurate personal information

  • Opt out of the sharing of personal data for targeted advertising

  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information

These rights are subject to certain limitations for fingerprint-related records. Fingerprint images are automatically purged from our system within 30 days of capture and cannot be deleted on request prior to that window, as this data is not retrievable or accessible by us once captured or transmitted. Transaction logs and physical copies of your Request for Live Scan Service form are retained for 12 months as required by California Department of Justice Live Scan Terms and Conditions and are not eligible for early deletion during that retention period. After the applicable retention period, this information is securely destroyed in the ordinary course of business.

  • Fingerprint images: retained no longer than 30 calendar days from the date of capture, then automatically purged, per California Department of Justice Live Scan Terms and Conditions and Civil Code § 1798.81.

  • Fingerprinting transaction logs and Request for Live Scan Service forms: retained for 12 months from the date of your visit, then securely destroyed, per California Department of Justice Live Scan Terms and Conditions and Civil Code § 1798.81.

  • Website contact form and inquiry information: retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry or as required by law.

You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to the mandatory retention periods described above.

8. Do Not Track (DNT)

Our website does not respond to browser-based Do Not Track (DNT) signals. However, you can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover we have received such information, we will delete it.
